Am I the only one still in New Year’s resolution mode? Ironically, now that my half-marathon is over, I have big plans for shedding some of those Christmas pounds that I have been holding on to. Running burns calories but it also requires more calories, and I’ve been waiting to do a bit of a juice cleanse (okay, maybe doing a juice cleanse. I don’t want to fully commit yet,) now that I know it won’t cause me to faint in the middle of a long run.
I don’t want to lose weight alone. I’m a blogger. I like to do things with people, virtually. And I am totally still inspired to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. So, I am really excited to announce my DietBet charity game called Lose It For Good.
Have you heard of a DietBet before? It is a fun game where you “bet” that you will lose 4% of your body weight in 28 days. In the case of this game, 50% of the pot will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society + an additional 10% of DietBet’s cut (for a total of 60%). The rest of the pot will be split between the players who successfully lose 4% of their body weight.
Losing 4% of your body weight is a GREAT way to start the new year. It isn’t an unhealthy amount, and it isn’t ridiculously scary either, but it is a good stepping stone to a healthier new year. If you’re starting at 150 lbs, your goal will be to lose 6 lbs in 28 days. If you are 200 lbs, your goal will be 8 lbs and if you weigh-in at 250 lbs, your goal will be 10 lbs. We’re not talking Biggest Loser numbers, just normal, every day weight loss numbers that can be achieved with focus and team work and the knowledge that you helping find cures for blood cancers.
The game starts on Monday, January 20th so SIGN UP NOW and share this so that you can do it with your friends!

I think the whole diet bet idea is cool. I tried a couple of them last year. I need to wait until I’m in a more commitment frame of mind though.

EXCITED! I debated for a day or two because the cost wasn’t factored into our budget (planning a wedding means we have to budget) but I started my own 100 day challenge this week and this is the perfect kick start to keep me going!

You can do it!
Love that you’re also doing this for charity.
I’ll do this after my vacation – because, you know, vacation :)

You are tempting me! I need to shed a few pounds to feel comfortable in my clothes again. I started counting calories last Friday but fell off today after the Blizzard and horrible driving around town today. Hmm…

Really wishing my scale weighed fat% – I’ve been hitting the gym EVERY night and the number on the scale is going UP!!

Don’t get disheartened! Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Take your measurements and think about how your clothes are fitting. Also, are you watching portion size and calorie counts too? Working out more means we need more calories, but that also means it can be easy to binge after a big workout (this is why it is hard to lose weight while running, if you’re not also watching what you eat.) xo. I promise those gym trips will start to show!
