I’m Laura.
I’m a makeup-loving, coffee-drinking, Converse-wearing, fun-loving, boy-mom.
(and no, we’re not trying for a girl).
Wife to Dan. Mama to Cameron, Gavin, and Logan.
(lover of Oxford commas)
I have officially been cured of being “baby crazy“.
I love Jesus, the power of prayer, the strength of forgiveness, and God’s crazy plan for my life.
(I have a crazy story to back all of this up).
I’m an evangelical (at least according to how that word used to be defined) pastor’s kid, now Children’s Minister in the most awesome Catholic church in the world (IMHO).
(I also believe in tearing down walls that divide, clearly).
Did I also mention I’m a Feminist?
(a Protestant daring to work in a Catholic church, claiming the “evangelical” title and declaring herself a feminist? You can all leave now. I understand).
My top strengths are: Intellection, Developer, Input, Belief, Positivity
(you don’t have to know what that means).
I’m a Canadian East Coaster through and through, having grown up in New Brunswick and now living only a 10-minute drive from a beach in Nova Scotia.
(my husband swears you can see the water from our house. It is debatable).
I have been blogging since 2003 when I was a teenager. My first blog post ever begged forgiveness for all the future blog posts that would follow. Consider that still in effect.
(yes, that means I’m one of those Millenials. Yes, that means you can find me all over the Internet: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram… Yes, that means I would LOVE to connect with you there!)
I met my husband through blogging, I planned our wedding while blogging, and we live-tweeted the births of all three of our sons.
I once was listed as one of Canada’s top Mommy blogs. I worked hard at building my little blogging brand. But then life-that-you-can’t-blog-about happened. (I didn’t know that was a thing.) Now, I’m trying to make it fit again, in a way that is life-giving again. This is my place for creativity, but it is no longer a job.
I write because I have to. I blog because I feel like it is the best way I can express myself. I once said that Mommy-Miracles examines the heart of motherhood – but who really knows anymore.
I used to consider this place my memoir, my legacy, my letter to my children, my therapy, and my hand reaching out to other Moms. Now, we’ll just have to see if it becomes anything again.
