Today is Dan’s birthday and while I joke with him that he has he has a fairly healthy ego as it is if you can’t praise someone on their birthday, when can you? There’s a reason I married this guy, and a reason I still love being married to him. And so today I’m going to mention all the good stuff and make you jealous that he isn’t married to you too. But he’s not. #sorrynotsorry. I’m a stickler for monogamy and I’m pretty happy with my choice in husband.

My husband is awesome because…

He’s hot (and he rocks his beard). (He’s totally my man candy).
He can cook.
He’s an amazing dad.
He’s funny (though, as it turns out, not as funny as I am).
He is driven.
He is smart.
He reads books for fun and relaxation.
He works hard.
He is a good husband!
He is always trying to be a better husband.
He is dedicated to our marriage.
He is so much fun to hang out with.
He is a good friend.
He makes the bed in the morning. (I never make the bed).
He tells me I’m beautiful.
He thinks about things and comes up with solutions in ways that very few other people can.
He relates to my kids in ways that I don’t.
He makes my kids laugh.
He makes me laugh.
He pushes me to be better.
He is creative and artistic. I love it when he pulls out his camera.
He is a natural leader
but he comes together with me to co-lead our family.
He is a really good hugger.
He loves his family.
He can change a diaper (though, feel free to change more, Dan!)
He washes his own clothes.
He encourages me (even sometimes when I don’t want to be pushed).
I know he wants me to be happy.
He gives me breaks when he can tell I really need one. (Because sometimes, I can be very obvious).
He is good in a crowd, which always makes me feel more at ease when we’re in new places.
He is confident (even when he’s wrong. ha!)
He prioritizes healthy living.
He is engaged in the world around him.
He sometimes does little things to let me know I’m loved.
He (and we) keep getting better as we spend more time together.
