This weekend was a big step in getting ready to be new parents. I think my “nesting” is finally starting to kick in, although I don’t really have the time or the space to start. We certainly got off to a good start this weekend though!
We ordered a crib and a matress for the little one this weekend from Costco online. It should arrive in a week. We decided to go with the Graco Blakely 5-in-1 Convertible Crib in Espresso finish. From what we can tell, this was the best priced crib we could find that was nice enough. It doesn’t have a drop side, but I think that should be fine, especailly because we plan to keep the baby in our room with us in a cradle for the first few months.

Now, the next thing I need to do is decide what the nursery theme will be. I had my heart set on a coordinated nursery bedding set called Bunny Meadows by Kids Line. Bunnies have always held a special place in my heart (my favorite stuffed animal is and was a brown bunny I got the day I was born), and the major colour of the bedding was green and brown, making it very perfect for either a boy or a girl. It was classic and cute and perfect. Unfortunately, this line has been discontinued, and I haven’t really been able to find anything else I like just as much.
BUT there is hope! I went to the Royal Diaperer in Lower Sackville on the weekend and I looked through their many baby bedding catalogues and found a few things that I really liked. Soon I will definitely need to go back with Dan so that we can pick something out together. I am really excited to choose this!
So, I think we did well this weekend! We’re finally starting to nest and getting ready for this baby.
