There are a lot of scary things in life. I’m currently binge-watching Bones on Netflix while I go about certain solitary tasks around my house like folding laundry and doing the dishes (and adding the photos to this blog post…). The fictional scenarios in that show can be very scary. Perhaps relatedly, a noise from…

White
I was among the first of my friends to get engaged. I was 21 years old and was beginning my final year of my undergrad when Dan popped the question. While my age would not have seemed young in 1979, when 22 and a half years was the average for women to get married, in…
When Greta Asked Away
Have you met Greta? Greta is the first American bloggy friend that I have met in person (I think. Don’t quote me on that). We didn’t just meet. We ran a half marathon together. We wore matching tutus (but we didn’t get a picture together). We laid on a hotel bed together while laughing and…
Movement
Motherhood sits precariously between total heart explosion and total mental breakdown.
Start Organized, Stay Organized: To Do Lists
I have come to realize that the practice of using a To-Do list can actually be stress-reducing if the list is used and kept up to date daily. (Otherwise known as the year Gavin grew up way too fast, the year I never cut my hair, and the year we bought a house…) Want to see more of our family’s transformation? Check out my 12 photos from 2012.
A Hard Day
I woke up this morning unsure about how the day would turn out. They had called for a blizzard. “They” were right. The snow was already falling and the wind was already blowing and my coworker had already texted me asking if I had heard anything about work when I opened my eyes. No, I…
Start Organized, Stay Organized: Email
Organization. I can’t be the only one who feels as if that word is loaded with so much… stuff. Organization is something that so many of us strive for and so few of us are able to achieve. I am really organized until I am not anymore, and when that happens I lose my handle…
