There are certain times in your life when you realize that you are surrounded by so many people who have your back – or at least, I hope this is a common realization. I hope I’m not the only one who feels this. Whenever I wonder whether anyone really likes me or if I am just the scum of the earth (I have to think this is a common feeling too somethings, because we all have insecurities, right?) I just needed to remember how loved I’ve felt during the times in my life when I needed it most – like now, as I am in the depths of newbornness all over again.
About a month before Logan was born, friends from church threw me a shower. They had reached out to some of my friends whom I had met online too so that they could contribute to the evening. I received words of hope for both me and the newest baby who would soon make himself known from people who I see weekly to people I rarely see to people I’ve never seen in real life. It was touching. And their gift of a certificate to get chef prepared meals delivered to my front door was really everything a Mom with a growing family could want.
Out of the kindness of their hearts, people are reaching out to us and bringing over meals to help us ease into the transition of being a family of five. I am humbled especially by the friends who offer to do things like this for us when they really don’t need to – when we haven’t seen them in a while, and when they have large, busy families of their own already.
Now that my third baby is here, my mailbox is a constant source of excitement as Logan is showered with gifts nearly daily from family and friends whom I have met and gotten to know through this blogging platform.
I don’t mean to boast. I don’t want to cause anyone who is in a similar state of newborn transition to feel more lonely when comparing their situation to mine. But I do want to emphasize how important it is for me to dwell on this lovingkindess that people are showering on my family right now. I need to remember what I’m feeling now for those times when I’m hit with insecurities and for other times when people in my life need to be showered with the same generosity. I want to be someone who will step up and love in this way.
So, in the spirit of generosity and showers and celebration, I want to thank those who read my blog and who followed along with my labour with Logan and who have been sending love and kind comments all throughout my pregnancy. I have a Disney Baby gift to shower upon someone.
This Disney Baby bundle includes a gorgeous Natural Minnie Mouse plush toy that is safe for even the tiniest babies. The organic cotton that it is made with is so soft, it is filled with recycled fibre and has a little rattle inside to soothe and entertain. Also included is a Splash Mat, perfect to sit underneath a high chair during meal times (ours went under the kid-table at Thanksgiving!), a SuperBib made with easy to wipe waterproof fabric, and a set of swaddling blankets.
To enter the giveaway, you must reside in Canada. Follow the instructions on the giveaway app below. The giveaway will be open for two weeks, ending right before midnight on February 13th.
I’m also connecting this post with Gfunkified and Writing, Wishing for their Through The Lens Thursday photography prompt. This week’s prompt was “Table”.

I am a BIG believer that every time a momma has a baby she should be spoiled…and so should the baby! I’m glad that is happening for you, my friend. Babies are mega big deals :)
