We’ve known Cameron has been a fan of music since way back in the pregnancy days. We would go to listen to our friend Bob play music at a local pub, and our little unborn bub shimmied and shook during each performance. And anytime I sang, my little SpaghettiO would be all a-wiggle.
Now that Cameron is an outside baby, he is still a music fan. When Cameron and Daddy spend time together, they often hang out in bedroom while Daddy plays guitar or they listen to rock oldies on the satellite radio. I’ve been singing lullabies to Cameron since he was an iddy-biddy baby and many times these lullabies will calm him. (Favorite lullabies in my repertoire: Cradle Song, Baby Mine, Godspeed, and also Surprisingly So, but I need the music on when I sing it).
Last week, Cameron got a gift from my Aunt Sylvia (Thank you Aunt Sylvia!!). The gift included a lullaby CD called Sing Over Me: Worship Songs and Lullabies.
This new CD of Cameron’s is his second CD. He got his first from the Read to Me program at the hospital. This CD is great: full of nursery rhymes and lullabies sung by local artists. We love to listen to it in the car and Cameron seems to like it too. So, we were really excited to try out Cameron’s second CD.
I started to play Cameron’s new CD in the car. It really helps put him to sleep and the songs were perfect because I could sing along. I love this new CD, and Cameron seems to too!
Then, a song came on that knocked the wind out of me and I immediately teared up.
