Well, it is that day of the week again… and this time I think I am managing to get the right day of the week. Last week I let you all know about my desire to get back into shape – and not this post-baby shape that I find myself in right now.
So let’s cut right to the chase. I give you the weigh-in:
Week 0: 164 lbs
Week 1: 165 lbs
Yup, I managed to gain weight this week. Darn. Ok, I’ll admit that I gave up working out once Jillian Michael’s yoga DVD kicked my butt and made it difficult to pick up my baby. So yes, I only officially worked out twice last week, but I did take quite a few walks with the stroller.
I only bought Cold Stone ice cream once, and I tried really hard to make healthy dinners most nights. This is killing two birds with one stone: I really HATE cooking, but I’ve been trying to be a better wife by making dinners for the family as much as I can. I’m also trying to make them healthy and packed with lots of good things. So far so good. If I do say so myself, my meals have been really delicious!
So yes, I gained weight and that sucks. But I really do feel like I’ve been trying hard to be a little healthier, and I’m on the right track. I think I’ll put Jillian on the back burner for now and just concentrate on Wii Fit Plus until I have a little more stamina. Maybe if I do that I won’t be so scared about working out and therefore actually do it!
Speaking of which, I’m off to go do some cardio!

Hey Laura bo-bora,
I got the Shred that you mentioned. It is phenomenal. I did it one day and then had to wait 4 days to do it again (so that my body wouldn't be so sore) BUT, I have done it everyday since then and I really really like it. I think you would too. It is really easy enough that you can do it, and you will be able to pick up your baby everyday except day two. PLUS, this doesn't apply to you, but I get 3 weight watchers activity points everytime I do it. And considering I also get 3 for one hour of walking everyday, those 20 minutes sure do help.
Love you loads!
Ta soeur.

It is a slog I know – I've headed back to WW as well – as of this am – and have been walking for about 1/2 hour these last two mornings and tried a fitness video but was sore forever…so will try to go back to it but not right away. You are headed in the right direction – I get frustrated too because I've been stuck here at this weight for a few months now and really try to eat great – but I know I need a new boost. I was watching breakfast television the other morning while getting ready and something caught my eye. There were a bunch of moms with strollers at the park there in Halifax – and they were doing a fitness thing with their babies in strollers…it was early in the am – but anyway – I didn't get the link or the name but I did find this person who does a stroller fitness group – or did in March and April or something like that – at Point Pleasant Park…anyway – just a thought
